Terms of Use

Effective April 25, 2026

By using IsItFluSeasonYet.com you agree to the terms below. Plain language version: this site is general reference information derived from public CDC data — it is not medical advice, and no content here should substitute for a conversation with your doctor.

1. Acceptance

Your access to and use of this site is conditioned on your acceptance of and compliance with these terms. If you disagree with any part, please don't use the site.

2. Not medical advice — please read carefully

Nothing on this site constitutes medical advice, medical diagnosis, or a treatment recommendation. This includes — but is not limited to — flu activity levels, testing guidance, vaccine timing recommendations, antiviral timing windows, fever thresholds, and all other health-related content.

This site synthesizes publicly available CDC surveillance data and presents it as general reference information. The people who built it are not physicians, epidemiologists, or licensed healthcare professionals of any kind.

Content such as "test within 48 hours," "antivirals work best in the first 48 hours," "consider masking in high-traffic areas," or "seek care above 103°F" is general awareness information drawn from publicly available CDC guidance — not a personalized recommendation directed at you. Your specific health situation may differ in ways that make general guidance inappropriate or harmful. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before making any health decision.

Medical emergency: If you or someone near you is experiencing difficulty breathing, chest pain, confusion, severe or persistent vomiting, or any other signs of a medical emergency, stop reading and call 911 or your local emergency number immediately.

3. Testing and treatment guidance

This site presents general information about flu testing windows and antiviral effectiveness drawn from CDC and published clinical sources. This information is not a prescription, a diagnosis, or a directive to take or avoid any specific medication.

Decisions about whether to test for flu, seek antiviral treatment, or take any other medical action should be made in consultation with a licensed healthcare provider who can evaluate your individual circumstances. Antivirals require a prescription; their appropriateness varies by patient, comorbidity, and clinical presentation.

4. Vaccine timing information

The vaccine window content on this site uses historical CDC regional peak data to estimate whether vaccination is likely to be beneficial given the current point in the season. This is a general probabilistic estimate, not personalized medical advice.

The CDC recommends annual flu vaccination for everyone 6 months and older. Questions about whether you specifically should get a flu vaccine, which formulation is appropriate for you, or whether any contraindications apply should be directed to your doctor or pharmacist.

5. Accuracy and data limitations

Flu activity data is sourced from the CDC FluView ILINet surveillance system via the Delphi CMU Epidata API. This data reflects the prior week — there is a roughly 7-day lag between real-world conditions and what is reported here. We make no guarantee about the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of the data.

Activity levels are regional (HHS region level), not local. Flu conditions in your specific city or neighborhood may differ materially from the regional figure displayed. The model mapping ILI percentages to a 0–5 severity scale is an editorial interpretation, not an official CDC classification.

Your reliance on any information on this site is entirely at your own risk.

6. Affiliate disclosure

Some product links on this site — including links to rapid flu test kits, thermometers, humidifiers, masks, and hand sanitizer — are Amazon affiliate links. If you purchase through one of these links, we may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. Affiliate compensation does not influence which products are linked or how they are described.

7. Intellectual property

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, IsItFluSeasonYet.com and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your access to or use of this site — including, without limitation, any health decisions made in reliance on content presented here. 11. Indemnification
